July 8, Fineko/abc.az. The amount of scholarships paid to citizens during the period of professional training has been halved in Azerbaijan.

ABC.AZ reports that President Ilham Aliyev approved amendments to the Employment Law.

According to the amendments made to Article 29, the amount of the scholarship paid to persons involved in vocational training is 50% of the minimum monthly salary. Currently, its size is equivalent to the minimum wage.

An annual increase in the minimum monthly salary in the country leads to an increase in the amount of the specified scholarship. Some people abuse this and, having the opportunity to find employment, prefer vocational training, which deprives those who really need it of taking advantage of this opportunity.

In addition, the "Action Plan to increase employment opportunities in the territories of Azerbaijan liberated from occupation for 2024-2026" approved by the Cabinet of Ministers provides for the involvement of 12,000 people in vocational training by 2026.
