March 29, Fineko/abc.az. In 2023, foreign direct investments (FDIs) in the Azerbaijani economy amounted to $6.658 bn (a rise of 6.1%).

ABC.AZ reports that CBA Statistics Department’s director Samir Nasirov said about this during a media briefing.

"Top 5 of countries in terms of FDIs in the Azerbaijani economy includes: the UK - $1.857 bn, Türkiye - $1.302 bn, Cyprus - $791.594 million, Russia - $617.339 million and Iran - $395.983 million," he said.

He added that in the 1st quarter, the volume of FDIs into the Azerbaijani economy totaled $1.5 bn, in the 2nd quarter - $1.478 bn, in the 3rd quarter - $1.392 bn, in the 4th quarter - $2.285 bn.

"The FDIs in the non–oil/gas sector amounted to $2 bn (a rise of 11.1%), the share was 30.1%," he added.

Nasirov mentioned that the UAE closes Top 10 of countries in terms of direct investments in Azerbaijan - $318.967 million, Japan - $277.273 million, Hungary - $197.452 million, the Netherlands - $188.178 million and the U.S. - $171.908 million.
