February 16, Fineko/abc.az. This January, Azerbaijan imported 70,146 tons of wheat for $16.28 million.

Compared with January 2023, wheat imports fell by 62.5% in value terms and by 51% in quantitative terms, ABC.AZ reports with reference to the monthly report of the State Customs Committee.

Thus, in the first month of 2023, the country imported 142,656 tons of wheat for $43.4 million.

The average cost of import of 1 ton of wheat fell from $304 to $232. Thus, in January wheat was imported in Azerbaijan for about $72 cheaper per ton.
