February 1, Fineko/abc.az. Milli Majlis MP Azai Guliyev said that cases of food poisoning have become more frequent in Azerbaijan recently.

ABC.AZ reports that delivering speech at today's parliament plenary session during the discussion of the proposed amendments to the Law on Food Safety, the MP noted that statistics on this issue should be conducted correctly.

He said the death toll from food poisoning has increased: "This should also be a serious signal for the Ministry of Health and the Azerbaijan Food Safety Agency (AQTA). The public should be informed about the causes of such cases.

"Guliyev also stressed that AQTA should pay attention not only to food safety, but also to quality: "Today, low-quality and dangerous food products are sold on the market. In addition, low-quality and dangerous products enter the country across the border. This issue needs to be taken seriously."

There are serious food-related threats. MP Sabir Rustamkhanli said this at today's meeting of Milli Majlis.
