December 13, Fineko/abc.az. The tobacco dryer of Zaqatala AGRO Industry LLC has produced 486.5 tons of dry tobacco since the beginning of the season.

ABC.AZ reports that in accordance with the agreement concluded with Italian and Swiss companies, the export of dry tobacco to the markets of these countries has already begun.

Zaqatala AGRO Industry LLC reports that this year the company signed contracts for tobacco production with 47 farmers in Balaken, Zagatala, Gakh and Sheki districts. According to the concluded agreements, the acreage of tobacco amounted to 238.5 hectares. At that, in the current season, farmers planted tobacco on an area of 151 hectares in their farms, using seeds provided by the company under individual contracts. On tobacco farms that have an agreement with the company, the collection of green tobacco leaves has already been completed. During the season, company’s tobacco dryer operating in Zagatala district received 3,320.8 tons of green tobacco mass from manufacturers. The production of dry tobacco is expected to grow even more, as the wet tobacco drying process is currently ongoing in the tobacco drying chambers at the station.

Of the farmers, Tarana Guliyeva has delivered 411.8 tons to the receiving point this season, Rahib Aliyev — 213.6 tons, Mehman Ahmadov — 179.1 tons, Akif Keleshov — 176.3 tons, Mammed Muradov — 158.5 tons, Mustafa Gallaev — 149.1 tons, Fazil Dursunov — 148.2 tons of green tobacco.
