November 14, Fineko/abc.az. Information received from large retail chains of Azerbaijan shows that in comparison with February 2023, in September of the same year, sales of plastic bags in retail facilities declined by 45-50%, ABC.AZ was informed at the State Service for Antimonopoly Policy & Consumer Market Supervision.

The import, production by entrepreneurs of plastic bags with density of up to 15 microns, as well as disposable plastic sticks, forks, spoons, knives, plates and glasses, as well as their sale or provision to consumers in retail facilities, catering facilities and other service facilities are prohibited. Under law, light plastic bags (bags) with thickness of 15-50 microns intended for goods and products must be presented to consumers (buyers) as a separate type of product.
