October 25, Fineko/abc.az. Over Jan-Sept 2023, the revenues of hotels and hotel-type facilities in Azerbaijan increased by 37.4% against Jan-Sept 2022 and reached AZN 369.8 million.
ABC.AZ reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee that 60.6% of revenues were received from room services, 27.3% - catering, 3.7% - health and wellness services and 8.4% - other services.
As a whole, over Jan-Sept 2023, tourists in Azerbaijan made 2.61 million overnight stays in hotels (a rise of 27.6%). At that, the main number of overnight stays accounted for hotels in Baku - 56.1% of the total number. In Khachmaz, this figure was 6.1%, in Guba - 5.2%, Gabala - 4.2%, Gusar - 4%, Naftalan - 3.8%, Shabran - 3.7%, Lankaran -3.3%, in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic - 1.6%, Gakh - 1.4%, Shemakha - 1.1%, Ismayilli - 1%, Ganja - 1%, Masalli - 0.9%, Sheki - 0.9%, Mingachevir - 0.5%, Shusha - 0.5%, in other cities and districts - 4.7%.
At that, 1.395 million (a rise of 35.3%), or 53.4% of all overnight stays were made by foreign citizens or stateless persons. Of them, 16% are tourists from Russia, 10.6% from Saudi Arabia, 8.5% from India, 7.3% from Türkiye, 6.5% from the UAE, 4.5% from Israel, 4.1% from Kuwait, 3.1% from the UK, 2.9% from the USA, 2.9% from Kazakhstan, 2.2% - Uzbekistan, 1.9% - Pakistan, 1.8% - China, 1.8% - Georgia, 1.5% - Germany, 1.1% - Italy, 1% - Qatar, 0.8% - Ukraine, 0.8% - Belarus, 0.7% - France, 0.6% - Iran, 0.6% - Oman, 0.6% - Bahrain, 0.5% - Poland, 0.5% - the Netherlands, 17.2% - from other countries.
81.8% of overnight stays were made by foreigners and stateless persons in hotels in Baku, 4.4% - in Gabala, 3.8% - Guba, 3.5% - Gusar, 3.5% - Naftalan, 0.5% - Shabran, 2.5% - in other cities and districts.
The number of overnight stays of Azerbaijani citizens in hotels increased by 19.8% against the same period of 2022 and reached 1.215 million (46.6% of the total number of overnight stays).
According to statistics, average occupancy rate of hotels in the republic was 20.8% compared with 16.3% a year earlier, including in Naftalan - 53.8%, Shabran - 52.9%, Guba - 32.3%, Baku - 29.6%, in other cities and districts this indicator was lower than the average around the country.
