The groundbreaking ceremony for a new barley processing brewery was held in Imishli on August 8.
ABC.AZ reports that the project will be implemented on the territory of Azersun Holding's Imishli sugar factory with joint investment by Azerseker LLC, Azersun Agricultural Goods LLC and Azerbaijan Investment Company.
Initially, the plant will process 11,000 tons of brewing barley, and at a subsequent stage its capacity will be increased 17,000 tons. The enterprise will fully meet the need for crude among beer producers, with Carlsberg Azerbaijan the largest among them. The investment cost of the project is AZN 25 million and it will provide 50 people permanent job at the enterprise. The plant will help reduce imports of these products to zero, thereby preventing outflow of more than $10 million dollars from the country. The enterprise will also produce over 510 tons of feed additives. As part of the project, a silo complex with a capacity of more than 20,000 tons will be built to store crude. In addition, Azerseker LLC will plant barley, sugar beet and food wheat in the territory of 8,000 hectares in Aghjabadi, Imishli and Fuzuli regions.
