July 25, Fineko/abc.az. As of July 1, 2023, the assets of the banking sector of Azerbaijan amounted to AZN 45.218 bn (7.9% more than on July 1, 2022), ABC.AZ reports, referring to the CBA.

In the structure of banks' assets, net loans given to customers totaled AZN 20.06 bn. This year, the sector's loan portfolio has grown by 17.3%, and the share of loans in assets from 40.8% up to 44.4%.

The liabilities of the banking sector grew by 6.9% up to AZN 39.305 bn, including the deposit portfolio by 6.9% up to AZN 32.056 bn. Of them, deposits for AZN 12.472 bn belong to individuals and for AZN 19,584.2 million to legal entities. Population’s finances in banks increased by 20.2%, while companies’ money in banks reduced by 0.1%.

This year, banks' liabilities to the CBA have lowered 2.6-fold to AZN 107.7 million.

The balance sheet capital of the sector increased by 14.9% up to AZN 5.912 bn.
