ABC.AZ reports that this opinion was expressed by Central Bank’s chairman Taleh Kazimov during the discussion of the proposed amendments to the Law on the Central Bank of Azerbaijan" at today's Milli Majlis meeting.

Kazimov noted that interest rates on loans in Azerbaijan are much lower than in neighboring countries: "In Azerbaijan, interest rates on loans for legal entities are 10.1% and for individuals - 16.1%."

He added that there are no plans to abolish the requirement of an identity card when exchanging currency.

He also noted that there is no need to increase the limit of 100,000 manats in connection with deposit insurance in Azerbaijan.
