June 19, Fineko/abc.az. The growth rate of demand for business loans slowed significantly in the 1st quarter of 2023.
ABC.AZ reports that this is stated in the Central Bank’s banking sector lending study for Q1 of 2023.
The demand for business loans in foreign currency has decreased.
In their expectations on business loans for Q2 of 2023, banks predict an increase in demand for loans in national currency, as well as for short-term and long-term loans, while the demand for loans in foreign currency will not change.

In their expectations on business loans for Q2 of 2023, banks predict a rise in demand for loans in national currency, as well as for short- and long-term loans, while the demand for loans in foreign currency will not change.
The main factors slowing down the growth of demand for loans for businesses, including SMEs, were the reduction of the mitigating effect on interest rates, investments and the need for working capital. The upward trend in the level of borrowing by economic entities continued. Growth was observed mainly on micro and SME entities.
