June 5, Fineko/abc.az. Non-bank credit organizations in Azerbaijan will be able to engage in payment mediation services.

ABC.AZ reports that Central Bank’s chairman Taleh Kazimov said this at a meeting of the Milli Majlis Committee on Economic Policy, Industry and Entrepreneurship.

According to Kazimov, this is envisaged in the Bill on Payment Services & Payment Systems.

"In the near future, the CBA will submit this bill to the National Assembly," Kazimov said.

There are 52 NBCOs operating in the country.

Currently, only banks and the national postal operator can provide payment mediator services.
