May 15, Fineko/abc.az. President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has received President of the Arab Parliament Adel bin Abdulrahman al-Asoomi.

ABC.AZ reports, referring to the website of the head of the Azerbaijani state, that during the meeting President Aliyev noted the successful and comprehensive development of Azerbaijan's relations with Arab countries, considering his invitation to the summit of the League of Arab States last year as "an indicator of the high level of our relations".

The head of state said that Baku always supports Islamic solidarity, noting the establishment of the Azerbaijani diplomatic mission in Palestine, the visit of the country's foreign minister to Palestine and the construction of a school there by the Azerbaijani side.

"At the meeting, the importance of expanding ties between Azerbaijan and Islamic and Arab countries in the economic, trade and investment spheres was stressed and confidence was expressed that cooperation will continue to develop," the site says.

The President of the Arab Parliament presented Ilham Aliyev with a memorable gift, which, as Adel ibn Abdel Rahman al-Asumi noted, is given only to the leaders of Arab states, but as an exceptional case was presented to the Azerbaijan leader.
