AQTA warns food suppliers from China

April 5, Fineko/abc.az. The Azerbaijan Food Safety Agency (AQTA) has warned some companies supplying foods from China.

AQTA reports that in compliance with Article 24.5 of the Law on Food Safety, in order to import a number of food and feed products into the customs territory of Azerbaijan, facilities where these products are produced and processed must be pre-approved.

Azerbaijan imports a number of food products from China, including goods belonging to a special risk group and requiring veterinary control. They include beef, duck, fish, canned fish, milk and products used as animal feed.

AQTA warns companies exporting products from China and states that the relevant food products must be approved in accordance with the paragraph of the Law on Food Safety. Companies that do not apply for approval before 10 April will not be able to import food from this country.
