UK company reduced gold extraction in Azerbaijan by 11.4% in 2022

January 16, Fineko/abc.az. British company Anglo Asian Mining (AAM - operator for the development of gold deposits in Azerbaijan) reduced the production of precious metals in 2022 by 10.8% compared with 2021 - to 57,618 ounces of gold equivalent.

ABC.AZ reports that last year the company produced 43,114 ounces of gold in Azerbaijan (decline of 11.4%), silver – 182,046 ounces (an increase of 17.8%), copper – 2,516 tons (decline of 5%).

AAM received 40,010 ounces of gold (decline of 13.4%) from Gedabek deposit from the dore alloy, and 26,963 ounces of silver (a rise of 24%).

"In 2022, 34,918 ounces of gold bullions were sold at world markets (decline of 11.7%) at an average price of $1,783 per ounce. In 2021, the company sold gold bullions at an average price of $1,799 per ounce," AAM emphasizes.

In 2022, the company also produced 13,301 tons of copper concentrate (a rise of 2%), of which it sold 12,443 tons at world markets (a rise of 11.6%) for $22.24 million (decline of 6.2%).
