December 21, Fineko/abc.az. The Bank of England presented on Tuesday the design of banknotes with the image of the new King of Great Britain Charles III.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the statement published on the bank's website that the portrait of the king will appear on polymer banknotes of 5, 10, 20 and 50 pounds.

The monarch's profile will be depicted on the front side of the banknotes, as well as in the form of a cameo in a transparent protective window next to the image of Big Ben, there will be no other changes in the design. The reverse side will also remain the same.

Banknotes with the image of the king are expected to go into circulation by mid-2024. At the same time, they will be printed only to replace worn ones and in case of an increase in demand.
