Oil gets more expensive, and Brent is at $79.74 a barrel

December 19, Fineko/abc.az. Prices for oil of benchmark grades are increasing in Monday's trading after previous week’s growth.

The cost of February Brent crude futures on the London ICE Futures exchange increased by $0.70 (0.89%) to $79.74 per barrel by 09:20. Following the trading on 16 December, Brent crude futures for February fell by $2.17 (2.67%) to $79.04 per barrel.

By 09:20 am, the price of WTI crude oil futures for January on the electronic trading of the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) grew by $0.66 (0.89%) to $74.95 per barrel. Following the trading on 16 December, the price of January futures for WTI oil fell by $1.82 (2.39%) to $74.29 per barrel.

At the end of last week, Brent crude oil rose by 3.86% and WTI by 4.61%.
