Azerbaijan plans to export ‘green energy’ to Europe

October 18, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan plans to export green energy to Europe in addition to natural gas.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the Ministry of Energy that Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov stated about this during a meeting with the delegation led by Greek Minister of Environment & Energy Kostas Skrekas, who is on a visit to Azerbaijan.

Issues arising from cooperation between the two countries in the field of energy were discussed at the meeting.

Shahbazov informed about the work done in Azerbaijan as part of the process of transition to "green energy" in accordance with current challenges. The importance of natural gas in the transition period was emphasized and information was provided on gas fields and reserves in our country in the context of doubling the gas exports to Europe, stipulated by the Memorandum of Understanding in the field of energy signed between Azerbaijan and the European Union.

Skrekas pointed out that the Southern Gas Corridor is of great importance for Greece in terms of sources gas and route diversification.
