October 10, Fineko/abc.az. The Ministry of Ecology & Natural Resources and AzerGold CJSC have been entrusted with geological prospecting at promising deposits of precious and non-ferrous metals in the central and southern parts of the Minor Caucasus of the Eastern Zangezur and Karabakh economic regions.

ABC.AZ reports that according to AzerGold, in this regard, the geological exploration group of the company has been conducting phased searches in the area of the Tutkhun precious metals deposit since this June. According to company’s exploration programs for 2022-2025, the geological group promptly continues active ground-based search and reconnaissance work in the areas of Bashlybel-Khanlanli, Orujlu-Agyatag-Chorman cleared of mines and unexploded ordnance in the Tutkhun river basin. In addition, hyperspectral satellite images, which are considered an innovative search method, are being conducted for the first time in the Caucasus region on an area of 1,624 sq km covering the Kalbajar and Lachin districts.
