Has electricity generation increased or decreased in Azerbaijan?

July 14, Fineko/abc.az. According to operational data on electricity, for Jan-Jun 2022, country’s electricity generation reached 315.6 million kWh (a rise of 2.3% up to 13.5 bn kWh against Jan-Jun 2021). 

ABC.AZ was informed at the Energy Ministry, electricity generation at thermal power plants grew by 110.3 million kWh (versus Jan-Jun 2021) up to 12.357 bn kWh. 205.3 million kWh of electricity (a rise of 1.16 bn kWh) was generated from other renewable energy sources, including hydroelectric power plants (solar and wind power plants, Solid Waste Incineration Plant), with an increase of 21.4%. Compared with Jan-Jun 2022, electricity generation at hydroelectric power plants grew by 199.3 million kWh up to 970.6 million kWh, and by 6 million kWh on other sources up to 192.1 million kWh. Wind power plants generated 46.8 million kWh, solar power plants – 30.7 million kWh, and the Solid Waste Incineration Plant – 114.6 million kWh of electricity.
