June 8, Fineko/abc.az. The WB Board of Executive Directors has endorsed the financing for Ukraine in the amount of $1.49 bn.

ABC.AZ reports that the project received financial guarantees from the UK, the Netherlands, Lithuania and Latvia, parallel financing from Italy.

The WB is working with donor partners to mobilize the necessary financial support and help ensure that Ukrainians have permanent access to medical services, education and social protection.

In February, Ukraine said it needed at least $5 billion a month in the near future for its government to continue functioning as Russia occupies and shuts down most of its economy. The financial leaders of the Seven Industrial Democracies group promised new funding of $9.5 bn last month, bringing their non-military support for Ukraine to almost $20 bn.
