June 6, Fineko/abc.az. Depending on the costs incurred by farmers for the production of food wheat, the amount of the subsidy may vary.

ABC.AZ reports that Deputy Agriculture Minister Ilhama Gadimova said this at a meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Economic Policy, Industry & Entrepreneurship.

"Today we can criticize the high subsidy for wheat. At a time when the issue of food wheat is acute, we’ll be forced to increase subsidies for it if the question is raised about why food wheat is not produced in large quantities in our country, and if we face with the requirement of doubling the amount of farmers' expenses in the event of an increase in production. This indicates that subsidies may vary depending on various indicators in the direction of the requirements that today's era or the modern world brings," she said.
