June 3, Fineko/abc.az. A representative office of Iranian bank Sina may be opened in Astrakhan Oblast, ABC.AZ reports, citing Mostazafan Foundation’s head Parviz Fattah at a meeting with oblast’s governor Igor Babushkin.

"Previously, the banking problem was only with us. We are under sanctions. Today you (Russia) are also under sanctions. You have this problem too. We need to solve this problem together. We want to get permission and open a representative office of our Fund-owned bank here (in Astrakhan Oblast)," Fattah said.

Russia and Iran have agreed to unite the Mir and Shetab payment systems. According to Fattah, Russia and Iran have already discussed the exchange of oil & gas supplies, as well as investments in oil & gas projects.
