May 4, Fineko/abc.az. The sixth package of EU sanctions against Russia will include disconnection of three Russian banks, including Sberbank, from international payment system SWIFT, ABC.AZ reports, citing European Commission’s president Ursula von der Leyen.

"We are finally disconnecting Sberbank, the largest Russian bank, from SWIFT. We will also disconnect two other major banks in Russia from SWIFT," she stated, when delivering speech in the European Parliament.

The EC president added that sanctions should help isolate the Russian financial sector from the global system, but should be supported by other European countries.
