March 11, Fineko/abc.az. According to the results of 2021, the return on assets of the banking sector of Azerbaijan made up 1.73% (0.03% less year-on-year).
ABC.AZ reports that as for asset quality, as of 1 January, non-performing loans made up 4.3% of the loan portfolio of the country's banks.
The IMF’s latest study on the region says that in terms of asset quality (the share of problem loans in the total loan portfolio) Azerbaijan ranks 1st in the Caucasus & Central Asia region.
Georgia and Armenia are next in this indicator. And the lowest quality of assets is observed on Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
