February 22, Fineko/abc.az. "Historically, the road from Armenia to the regions of Azerbaijan passed through the center of the city of Lachin. Currently, this road has been put into operation in order for Armenians living in Karabakh to have transport links with Armenia. This road is the historical road of Azerbaijan."

ABC.AZ reports that Saleh Mammadov, the chairman of board of the State Motor Road Agency of Azerbaijan, said this at a press conference dedicated to the work done in 2021.

He added that in order to ensure the direct movement of the Azerbaijani population, a road is being built bypassing the city of Lachin: "Currently, Armenians are passing through the city of Lachin. The alternative road, which is being built bypassing Lachin, will be used by both Armenians and our citizens. 17 km of an alternative road with total length of 28 km has already been laid, it will be put into operation by this July."

The road bypassing the city of Lachin will be put into operation this summer.
