Opening of a sanctuary took place in Shemakha – president and his wife attended the event

November 2, Fineko/abc.az. The opening of the Complex of the Pirsaat Baba Sanctuary-Mosque took place in Shemakha after restoration and reconstruction works. 

ABC.AZ reports that President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva attended the groundbreaking ceremony. At the initiative of Heydar Aliyev Foundation’s president Mehriban Aliyeva the restoration and construction of the new mosque began here in 2020. On 25 May of the same year the country’s leader and the first lady got acquainted with the works carried out as part of the reconstruction of the sanctuary. 

It should be noted that thanks to the attention of President Aliyev, shrines and temples are being reconstructed in Azerbaijan.
