March 15, Fineko/abc.az. The Central Bank of Azerbaijan put into circulation AZN 12.5 bn (or 492 million banknotes) and withdrew AZN 13.9 bn (or 556 million banknotes), ABC.AZ was informed at the CBA.

As a whole, since early 2020 the money supply in circulation increased by 13.8% (AZN 1.4 bn or 64 million banknotes) and by the end of the reporting year amounted to AZN 11.8 bn.

Last year, in order to improve the quality of the national banknotes in circulation, the announced “policy of net money in circulation”, was continued. The banknotes in the amount of AZN 8.8 bn were processed in automated systems and re-issued into circulation, and unusable banknotes in the amount of AZN 2 bn were withdrawn from circulation.
