October 20, Fineko/abc.az. The Khudaferin hydroelectric complex will allow Azerbaijan to generate 368 million kWh of electricity a year.
ABC.AZ reports that the above-said statement was made by Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov.
He noted that the process of coordinating the energy systems of Azerbaijan, Iran and Russia is ongoing.
The minister underlined that with the consent of the relevant energy companies of all three countries, the preparation of a feasibility study of the project by a consulting company was started:
"The tasks arising from Azerbaijan-Iran intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in the field of further construction, operation, use of energy and water resources of the Khudaferin and Giz Galasi hydroelectric power stations and a hydroelectric power station on the Araz River are being fulfilled. The minister noted that the construction of the Khudaferin hydroelectric dam is almost completed, and the work on the Giz Galasi dam is approaching to the end as well.

The issues of calculating the construction costs and the damage caused to the Khudaferin hydroelectric complex, as well as purchase and installation of devices and equipment for hydroelectric power stations are considered.
