January 17, Fineko/abc.az. Last year the citizens of Azerbaijan constructed 599,900 sq m at their own expense.

The State Statistics Committee informs that in 2017 country’s citizens built 11,500 private houses with total area of 599,900 sq m that makes up 92.6% of all commissioned residential houses.

"626,700 sq m or 39.2% of constructed houses are located in rural areas. The average area of private houses, built by citizens totals 138.6 sq m. 59.3% of those houses were built in the Nakhchivan, Baku, Sumgait and Lankaran cities, and the Absheron, Shamkir, Sabirabad, Gazakh, Jalilabad and Tovuz districts of the country," the SSC said in a statement.
