Oil price rises, after a sharp fall of 4%

January 9, Fineko/abc.az. Prices for oil of standard grades are rising on Thursday after their fall more than by 4%.

Following the trading on 8 January, the price of March’s futures for Brent oil at the London Stock Exchange ICE Futures collapsed by $2.83 (4.15%), amounting to $65.44 per barrel at the close. March’s futures for Brent crude oil rose by $0.46 (0.7%) up to $65.9 per barrel by 9:15 am.

Following the trading on 8 January at the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX), the price of February’s futures for WTI oil fell by $3.09 (4.93%) to $59.61 per barrel. February’s WTI futures rose by $0.51 (0.86%) up to $60.12 per barrel by 9:15 am.

As a result of the decline, which was the maximum for a month and a half, the quotes returned to the levels of mid-December.
