09:41 - 29.10.2026

October 28, Fineko/abcnews. According to the World Bank’s latest Commodity Markets Outlook, global commodity prices are projected to jump by 23.1% in 2026 driven by intensifying geopolitical shocks and Middle East conflicts.

The report forecasts a 32% surge in energy prices, with Brent crude averaging $91 per barrel, alongside what is expected to be the steepest drop in global oil supply in over 40 years. Furthermore, food commodities are anticipated to rise by 10.3%, while metal prices are expected to jump by 24.5% amid strong demand for green tech and supply disruptions.

World Bank Deputy Chief Economist Ayhan Köse warned that these combined shocks threaten to exacerbate inflation and food insecurity worldwide.
