October 26, Fineko/abc.az. For Jan-Aug 2026, Azerbaijan's exports to Uzbekistan increased by 99.3%, reaching $87.38 million, while imports declined by 44.7% to $137.19 million.

The main cause of drop in imports was the lack of purchases of semi-processed gold this year, imported for $124.91 million for the 2025 same term.

As a result, Azerbaijan's trade deficit with Uzbekistan declined from $204.31 million to $49.82 million, and the total trade turnover by 23.1% to $224.57 million.

The main contribution to the growth of Azerbaijani exports was made by sugar, the supply of which grew by 170.7% up to $48.72 million, aluminum alloys - by 54.7% up to $9 million, as well as baby food for $3.94 million.

In imports from Uzbekistan, shipments of walnut kernels observed growth by $9.54 million and rolled steel with zinc coating by $4.40 million, while imports of copper wire dropped to $3.88 million.
