September 3, Fineko/abc.az. Hungarian Prime Minister Péter Magyar stated that Hungary will approve the European Union’s 2028–2034 budget only if it directly serves the interests of the Hungarian people and business community.

Speaking after a meeting with European Council President António Costa, Magyar reaffirmed Hungary’s commitment to strict physical and legal border protection against illegal migration. He emphasized that Budapest opposes accelerated EU accession pathways for any candidate country. Additionally, the Hungarian government expects a swift resolution regarding the suspension of the €1 million daily fine previously imposed over its border control policies.
