August 13, Fineko/abc.az. Aluminium prices declined for a second consecutive session as supply disruption fears in the Middle East began to recede.
The pullback followed news that Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA), the UAE's largest producer, plans to restore conflict-disrupted production faster than initially projected. The company aims to ramp up output at its main plant—shut down following a attack in March—back to pre-conflict levels by the first quarter of 2027.
Prior to this update, aluminium had rallied for seven straight sessions to a seven-week high amid stalled US–Iran negotiations regarding the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. Meanwhile, London Metal Exchange (LME) aluminium inventories remaining at their lowest levels since 1990 had further stoked market supply fears.
Price Movements:
Aluminium: Dropped 0.9% to $3,282.50 per tonne.
Copper: Declined by 0.4%.
Zinc: Slipped by 0.8%.
