July 21, Fineko/abc.az. The US Department of Defense's budget is expected to be fully exhausted within a few weeks due to ongoing military operations against Iran.

According to The Washington Post, citing informed sources, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth is set to address the Senate Appropriations Committee today to request supplemental funding.

Having already curbed spending on training and equipment maintenance due to cash flow shortfalls, the Pentagon has also sought Congressional authorization to reallocate $4.3 billion—originally slated for weapons procurement and exercises—directly toward war operations. Meanwhile, a prior White House request for a $67 billion emergency defense package remains stalled in Congress over legislative disagreements.
