July 9, Fineko/abc.az. AstraZeneca's shares fell by 9% (the maximum drop in years) after the failure of key trials of drug Wainua. The medicine did not show a significant reduction in the risk of death and cardiovascular complications.

The news disappointed investors and put pressure on index FTSE 100. Morgan Stanley analysts called the result a "negative surprise" and expect a downward revision of sales forecasts for the drug.

The company plans to present detailed research data in August, and market attention is shifting to other drugs in development.
