July 8, Fineko/abc.az. LG Electronics (S Korea) more than doubled its operating profit in the 2nd quarter up to 1.58 trillion wons ($1.03 billion), significantly exceeding market expectations (1.07 trillion wons). The increase is partly linked with one-time income from compensation for US tariffs.

Quarterly revenue grew by 15% up to a record of 23.83 trillion wons. At the end of the 1st half of 2026, the profit reached 3.25 trillion wons, already exceeding the result for entire 2025.

Against the backdrop of strong reporting, company's shares rose by 1.8%, despite the decline in Japanese index Nikkei 225.
