July 7, Fineko/abc.az. The Israel National Security Studies Institute (INSS) is alarmed by the activities of Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Syria in forming alternative trade routes between the Persian Gulf and Europe, bypassing Israeli territory.

Speech is about competition with the Indian-Middle East-European Economic Corridor (IMEC), which Tel Aviv has been betting on as a way to secure the port of Haifa as a key gateway between the Gulf and Europe.

At the same time, Turkey is developing the Development Path project, which connects the Iraqi port of Al-Fao to Europe through its territory, with the possible inclusion of Syria, Jordan, and the revival of the historic Hijaz Railway.

The war with Iran and threats to shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and the Red Sea have led countries in the region to reevaluate the role of trade corridors, increasingly viewing ports and energy pipelines as part of their national security systems.
