July 3, Fineko/abc.az. Since the start of operation, around 86 bcm of gas have been exported to Turkey via the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum gas pipeline, ABC.AZ informs with reference to the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan.
19 years have passed since the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipeline was put into operation. This pipeline transports natural gas produced at gas condensate field Shah Deniz to the Turkish market.
The South Caucasus Pipeline carries gas extracted at Shah Deniz field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea to Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Turkey. The South Caucasus Pipeline was commissioned in late 2006, and transportation of gas produced within Shah Deniz 1 began. Since the summer of 2018, gas extracted as part of Shah Deniz 2 has been supplied via the expanded South Caucasus Pipeline to Turkey via the TANAP pipeline.
