June 24, Fineko/abc.az. Over Jan-May 2026, the total car insurance market in Azerbaijan (including voluntary and mandatory types) recorded expansion of market volumes.

ABC.AZ informs that according to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, car insurance premiums grew by 6.9% year-on-year, reaching 106.5 million manats. At the same time, insurance payments increased by 19.1%, reaching 78.6 million manats.

The market structure by voluntary and compulsory types:

• Premium distribution: Of the total premiums of 106.5 million manats, 32.1 million manats accounted for voluntary car insurance and 74.4 million manats for compulsory car insurance (OSAGO).

• Payment distribution: Of the total payments of 78.6 million manats, 15.4 million manats were paid for voluntary policies and 63.2 million manats for compulsory policies.
