June 10, Fineko/abc.az. The production of electricity at the first power unit of the Akkuyu NPP in Turkey is scheduled to begin by the end of 2026.
ABC.AZ informs that Turkish Energy Minister Alparslan Bayraktar stated this, noting that the plant is being gradually prepared for commissioning.
Earlier it was reported that one of the key stages of reactor preparation was finished, including loading of simulated fuel assemblies, which is a test before loading nuclear fuel and commissioning.
Akkuyu NPP is Turkey's first nuclear project, implemented by Rosatom using the Build-Own-Operate model and comprising four power units of 1,200 MW each.
