June 2, Fineko/abc.az. Germany intends to expand its strategic partnership with the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR).
ABC.AZ informs that Ulf Heitmuller, Chairman of the Board of German company VNG AG, made the relevant statement at the panel discussions of the Baku Energy Week.
According to Heitmuller, cooperation between the parties is developing rapidly, and further expansion of cooperation is planned in the future. He noted that Germany intends to build a sustainable strategic partnership with SOCAR and this process is just beginning.
"Long-term strategic cooperation helps reduce uncertainty in the energy markets," Heitmuller said.
He added that Germany continues to diversify its gas supply sources to strengthen energy security: "The presence of various sources in the gas supply increases the stability of the energy system. The more important it is for Azerbaijan to diversify demand markets, the more important it is for us to diversify supply sources. This makes the power grid more stable. The German market will need natural gas in the long term, and the country will continue to cooperate with reliable suppliers."
