May 13, Fineko/abc.az. For the first time since the beginning of the war in the Middle East, the discount on Russian Urals oil has increased.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to Bloomberg that this happened amid expectations of an early end to the conflict between the U.S. and Israel against Iran.

According to Argus Media, Urals from western ports was selling at average of $80.6 per barrel on Friday. This is almost $24 cheaper than Brent. Before that, after the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, interest in Russian oil increased, while the discount, on the contrary, declined. By the time of delivery to India, Russian oil is already traded at a premium to Brent. In mid-April, it was about $7, and by the end of last week it had dropped to $2.4 per barrel.
