May 6, Fineko/abc.az. Central Bank of Azerbaijan’s governor Taleh Kazimov said that he does not support the desire of government agencies to receive more information about individuals, as this may reduce confidence in the banking system.

ABC.AZ reports that according to Kazimov, this raises questions about the use of debit cards in business activities. The law obliges banks to transfer business customer data to the tax authorities, but if the card is not linked to the INN, the control mechanism is different.

He noted that frequent card-to-card transfers can be suspicious and should be checked. Despite the protection of personal data, if there are questionable transactions, there may be risks of fraud, tax evasion or money laundering, and such cases are subject to analysis by financial monitoring.
