May 6, Fineko/abc.az. Over March–April 2026, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan did not conduct currency auctions.

ABC.AZ informs that CBA gorvenor Taleh Kazimov made the relevant statement at a press conference.

He added that the reason was the excess of the supply of foreign currency over the demand in the foreign exchange market.

"In April, we intervened to buy foreign currency for $1 billion. We continue to observe the processes of de-dollarization. By the end of March, the level of dollarization of deposits of resident individuals decreased to 37-38%, which is 2.1 percentage points lower than at the beginning of the year," Kazimov said.

He emphasized that both the cash and non-cash foreign exchange markets have seen an increase in public confidence in the manat and stable expectations regarding the national currency.
