April 30, Fineko/abc.az. In Azerbaijan, as of the end of March 2026, the quantity of payment cards in circulation increased by 62,000 versus the previous month up to 22.409 million.

ABC.AZ reports that compared with the 2025 same term, this figure grew by 10%.

Among payment cards, the number of debit cards observed growth by 12%, while the number of credit cards dropped by 9%. The rise in the number of payment cards had positive impact on non-cash payments.

Thus, in March, the non-cash transactions within the country increased by 46% compared with Jan-Mar 2025. In March 2026, the non-cash payments within the country made wiht the use of cards reached 9.56 million manats.

Of this amount, 8.291 million manats accounted for e-commerce.

Of the remaining amount, transactions for 1.267 million manats conducted through POS-terminals and for 2 million manats through self-service terminals and ATMs. Since the beginning of the year, the non-cash domestic transactions with payment cards has made up 69.7% of domestic card transactions.
