EBRD increases investment portfolio in Azerbaijan

April 30, Fineko/abc.az. As of March 31, 2026, EBRD’s current loan portfolio in Azerbaijan reached 898 million euros. This means an increase of 2.3% over the past month, or 21 million euros.

ABC.AZ reports that currently the number of active projects is 36.

It is noted that 90% of the portfolio (825 million euros) accounts for investments in sustainable infrastructure, 7% (63 million euros) for investments in industry, trade and agribusiness, and 3% (30 million euros) for investments in financial institutions. Bank's operating assets in the country grew by 3% up to 716 million euros.

Thus, to date, the EBRD has invested €3.712 billion in Azerbaijan within the framework of 202 projects, and 93.1% (€3.458 billion) of this amount has already been utilized by borrowers for project implementation. The private sector accounts for 40% of the portfolio.

Recall that in 2025, the EBRD allocated €81 million for 10 projects in Azerbaijan.
