April 29, Fineko/abc.az. The card infrastructure continued to expand in the payment sector in March.

ABC.AZ reports that during the month, the number of payment cards in circulation at banks and Azerpocht grew by 62,000, reaching 22.409 million cards. The indicator increased by 10% year-on-year.

At the same time, the quantity of debit cards grew by 12%, while the number of credit cards declined by 9%.

Gorwth in the number of cards also had positive impact on non-cash payments.

In March, the volume of non-cash transactions within the country increased by 46% year-on-year and amounted to 9.56 billion manats.

Of this amount, 8.29 billion manats accounted for e-commerce, 1.27 billion manats for POS-terminals, and 2 billion manats for transactions through self-service terminals and ATMs.

Since the beginning of the year, the share of non-cash transactions in the structure of internal card transactions has reached 69.7%.

The card and payment infrastructure has also expanded.

Compared to March 2025, the number of ATMs grew by 6.3% and POS terminals by 46%.
