Structure of Azerbaijan's external public debt as of April 1 published

April 28, Fineko/abc.az. As of April 1, 2026, Azerbaijan's external public debt amounted to $4.689 billion, with 86.1% of liabilities denominated in US dollars.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the Ministry of Finance that 6.1% of the debt structure accounted for the euro, 3.1% for the SDR (special drawing rights of the International Monetary Fund), 3.1% for the Japanese yen, and 1.6% for other currencies.

Floating-rate liabilities made up 49.1% of the external debt and fixed-rate liabilities - 50.9%.

59.2% of the external government debt is due to be repaid within 5 years, 35.4% - for period of 5 to 10 years, and another 5.4% - for more than 10-year period.
